Sustainable agriculture (2001 – 2007)

In Phagi, Jaipur, Rajasthan, a project addresses environmental concerns through sustainable agriculture. Key components include cover cropping, rainwater conservation, agro-forestry, vermiculture, and organic farming. Combating soil erosion is a primary objective, safeguarding topsoil fertility and ensuring sustainable farming. Rainwater conservation emphasizes efficient usage during dry periods and contributes to regional water resource conservation. Agro-forestry enhances biodiversity, providing additional income sources for the community. Vermiculture produces nutrient-rich compost, reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers. Adopting organic farming underscores the commitment to eco-friendly practices, protecting the ecosystem and promoting soil and crop health.

Directly impacting 452 individuals, the initiative benefits six villages in the Phagi Block, fostering a collective commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture. From improved yields to enhanced environmental sustainability, the project's inclusive approach ensures widespread positive effects within the broader community.
