Livelihood and Women empowerment programme for women in Rajasthan 2013 - ongoing (350 Stitching centres)
This community-based initiative is dedicated to empowering rural and marginalized women through a comprehensive skill development program. The primary focus is on imparting valuable materialistic skills, including the art and craft of stitching and sewing, alongside non-materialistic skills like business education. By teaching basic financial management, marketing strategies, and product development, the initiative nurtures an entrepreneurial spirit. This holistic approach ensures a solid understanding of running a successful enterprise.
The program aims to equip women with practical and applicable skills, enabling them to generate sustainable livelihoods within their communities. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by rural women, the initiative addresses them through hands-on training. Participants not only learn crafting skills but also gain the necessary knowledge to transform these skills into viable entrepreneurial ventures. The overarching objective is to instill confidence and self-reliance, fostering a sense of independence and agency.
Beyond technical proficiency, the initiative incorporates elements of business education to ensure participants excel in their craft while developing a comprehensive understanding of running a successful enterprise. Micro Finance : 2006 to 2009
From 2006 to 2009, Jan Kala Sahitya Manch Sanstha spearheaded a project aiming to empower women and facilitate sustainable livelihoods. Through microfinance initiatives, women in Self-Help Groups (SHGs) access funds for income-generating activities, promoting economic independence and entrepreneurship. This collaboration between the organization and the Government of India (GOI) through RMK (Rashtriya Mahila Kosh), a government entity, emphasizes a collective commitment to women's economic empowerment. A total of 600 women have benefited from the program, receiving a loan amount of 30 lakh. This impactful initiative stands as a testament to dedicated efforts to uplift and enhance the lives of women in both rural and urban settings.
CONNECTING DROPOUTS WITH MAINSTREAM 2023 - ongoing
Informal Education Programme for women who are dropped out from schools. This initiative has a mission to impact 100 villages, reaching 2000 women and addressing their educational and overall well-being needs. The project adopts a multifaceted approach, recognizing that true transformation involves various aspects of community life. Our strategy includes establishing educational infrastructure in villages, ensuring equipped learning spaces staffed by qualified educators to create an environment conducive to effective learning. Empowerment is a cornerstone, extending beyond the classroom. We aim to cultivate skills beyond traditional academics, organizing workshops to impart practical skills for economic independence and self-reliance among women.
The project's scope isn't confined solely to education; it recognizes the intrinsic link between education and overall well-being. Health and hygiene awareness programs are integral, ensuring communities have knowledge to lead healthy lives. This holistic approach addresses not only immediate educational needs but also broader factors influencing the quality of life in these villages.
